Pisana a Porta San FredianoGallery
Even though it is set in a busy area the 3 bedrooms are very silent, with high-ceiling and original affrescos in most of the rooms.
Two of the bedrooms are equipped with air conditioning/heating units, while the third one with two twins beds isn't.
The main areas of the apartment have a lot of natural light, which enhances the sense of internal space.
The kitchen is big and fully equipped.
Both bathrooms are spacious, with showers and nice finishing.
The living room has a fireplace and a library. It is a special place in the house, where one can enjoy relaxing moments after a day walking through the city.
If you want to be connected with the world during your staying, no problem. The apartment has wifi internet and a TV with digital signal.
Walking distance to all major touristic spots in Florence, such as: Piazza Santo Spirito, Piazza del Carmine, Ponte Vecchio, Duomo, Piazza della Signoria and everything else in Centro Storico (the old town).
A few steps away from the apartment you have plenty of public transportation, if you find necessary using it. No more than 200 meters away you will find a well-served supermarket (Esselunga).
Nevertheless, you will find many other convenience stores and small local shops just a few meters far from your doorstep. You will also find plenty of restaurants, with high quality Italian food and other well ranked ones, in the area of apartment.
Situated 10 minutes away from the Central Station (Santa Maria Novella) the apartment has the perfect location when it comes to stay central, but far from the regular touristy crowds that one finds in the core of city. If you are coming by car the location will make it easy for you to find the address, as it is located close by the entrance/exit of main highways in Tuscany (Pisa/Livorno).
Come enjoy your staying with us in this beautiful apartment and bring back home wonderful memories.

24/07/2016 - Like borrowing a friend's appartment
We were booking at fairly short notice, otherwise I would have considered this place too expensive for us. On the other hand we wanted 3 bedrooms if possible, central location, wifi and aircon. We were not disappointed on any of these counts. The flat is large and airy, tastefully decorated and equipped as if the family just packed up only their prized possessions and left it in our hands. All the rooms are big, and the high ceilings give it a feeling of space and relaxation. We kept the windows open a lot, there was some noise from the street side, but mostly during the day, and that was only on weekdays. There are decorative, painted ceilings, art on the walls, and everything was in good condition. The living room was full of books, mostly in Italian, but it gave a nice homely feel. There were also games. Lots and lots of cupboard space in all rooms. Two well-equipped bathrooms (even bathroom scales!) When arriving in Florence, our plane was unable to land so we were redirected to Pisa. This meant that we could not make the arranged meeting time, and when we had found the right phone number (!) we got hold of the guy, he spoke good English, and there was no problem at all with our late arrival. Of course, we had to pay the late arrival fee, but that is just one of those things that can't be avoided, he waited nearly 3 hours for us on his Saturday evening. He spent a lot of time with the map showing us where the restaurants were, but on reflection it would have been better if he'd shown us how to turn on the aircon, how the dishwasher worked etc. We couldn't get the aircon going, finally I contacted maintenance, because the bathroom sinks were full of hair and wouldn't drain, and because a few lightbulbs weren't working, so they came and fixed those and the remote control for the aircon appeared. Actually those things should have been working before we arrived, so the place only gets 4 stars from me - but I have to say that maintenance responded quickly and efficiently to my email. I have no complaints. The wifi worked really well in all rooms. We didn't try the TVs. The dishwasher actually needs a service, and the iron was somewhat old-fashioned, however the washing machine worked fine. There were several electric gadgets in the kitchen and an eclectic collection of crockery. But also useful stuff like cling film and bags, washing powder etc, and a welcoming bottle of wine. Lots of bins with bags available. We had to empty the bins on our last day, you do this out on the street and at first we could only find the trash containers that needed a key (which was not provided). But later, I found one that was open to everyone, go through the city gate and a little down the road. The area is well-recommended. The flat faces a small square with several restaurants (including the micro-brewery in the same building, where we ate a few times) and a nice ice-cream place. The City gate makes it easy to recognise. There are lots of nice restaurants in the Oltrarno area, and not many tourists. They are all 10-15 minutes walk away on the other side of the river, where the sights are. We also made it on foot to the park on the other side of the river, that has a swimming pool, but it's about 3km walk I guess.
12/07/2013 - It has everything you could want, space, air-con, location, loca
The agents were extremely helpful both on greeting and upon leaving. The apartment has two bedrooms with air con and one of those has an en-suite. The other bedroom has a pull out sofa making up a third double bed but no air-con. This room was at the front which got a bit hot and noisy as you are right on the street and above a fab bar that brews it's own beer. There is another very nice bathroom and the apt decor is delightful, very arty, and full of character and culture. You will have to pay a cleaning fee of 50 Euros no matter how tidy you leave the apt and pay cash for the utilities, so keep some cash back (about 50 euros). There are plenty of restaurants nearby and a deli, and bakery. The supermarket is by far the cheapest place to buy and is about a 7-10 minute walk to the left if you stand with your back to the main door. The apartment has really everything you could want including a pizza oven. The Station is about a 10-15min walk as are the majority of wonderful sights. But be aware that the prices to enter museums have increased and are not as shown on the websites. 11 euros to see David(closed Mondays), 7 euros to see Boboli Gardens, etc. The flea markets are really worth wandering around and do barter. The indoor food market is spectacular for fresh veg and fish and just the experience. And a trip to the Lido is a must, either during the day or for an evening experience.Just to note that if anyone in your party is over 65 take your passport as you enter lots of places free, as do children.
